Riverside Café

Delicious!

We asked a few of our customers to describe the Riverside café in one word; we had wondered if they would say, homemade, spacious, enjoyable… however their response was even better – delicious.

Delicious home cooked meals made from scratch with locally sourced ingredients (where we can – we are still struggling with Yorkshire grown bananas, however local meat and veg are on the menu!)

Then there are our cakes; we bake every single one here in our own kitchens so they are fresh, moist and delicious.

However our soup deserves a special mention.  How many times do you order soup when you are out only to be brought something heated up that started its life in a tin, or even worse, as a packet mix.

We don’t eat that at home, and we certainly don’t serve it here, fresh local vegetable, quality cuts of meat and of course a measure of love are what makes our soup special.

We have recently launched our new Dining Club, where our Riverside café throws to one side its day clothes, puts on its glad rags and becomes the dining venue in the whole of South Yorkshire (well that’s what we think – and our customers are quick to agree!)

in July we invited club members to travel to Greece with us on for only £20pp (£10 deposit pp).

We turned our cafe into a Taverna for the night & created a menu fit for the Greek Gods.

Dips with olives & Vegetables

Grilled Haloumi cheese with walnuts & salad

Pan fried fresh Tuna steak served with roasted cherry tomatoes & citrus Cous-Cous

OR

Keflonian Stifado (beef cooked in red wine & herbs) served with new potatoes & green beans

Pistachio & honey cake with Yogurt & strawberries
